On this day, we opened the doors of the bookstore to welcome the trio The Peace of wild Things, composed of Clara Lacerda (piano & composition), Romeu Tristão (double bass) and Ricardo Coelho (drums and percussion). This project is dedicated to the discovery and reinterpretation of black spirituals and Protestant hymns, as well as the exploration of original repertoire inspired by this universe. - “We want to bring music closer to the public (and the public to music), preserving the concept of “ritual”, which for centuries has been unquestionably linked to all the arts.”
The trio The Peace of Wild Things has been active since 2021. Since then, they have performed at PENHA SCO (curated by Robalo Music), Café
Dias, Espaço Espelho D’Água, Ermo do Caos and Astória – Pátio das Cardosas, Porta-Jazz (Porto), at the Robalo/Antena 2 festival curated by Robalo Music (Lisbon), Jazz na Caixa Festival (Vila Nova de Famalicão), in the Grândola Vila Jazz cycle (Grândola), “Pandemónios Jazz Night’s” curated by Plataforma do Pandemónio (Braga), Jazz AlémTejo Festival (Santiago do Cacém), Hot5, Távola Jazz Clube, Casa Fernando Pessoa and at Hot de Portugal (Lisbon). At the time of this proposal, they were preparing to record their first album, with the support of GDA, scheduled for release in the summer of 2025.
